More Rain Tonight, Flood Watch Issued

A wet week continues with more rain on the way tonight for southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma.

A flood watch will be in effect for southern Kansas including Cowley, Chautauqua and Montgomery Counties. Osage, Washington, Nowata and Craig Counties and counties to the south in Oklahoma are also included in the flood watch through tomorrow. The area could see between 1 and 3 inches of rain with higher totals possible locally.

Montgomery County is on the line between a marginal and slight risk of severe weather tonight. Oklahoma has a bit better chance of seeing storms develop, as storms are expected to start in the west after 9 p.m. and exit southeast Kansas early tomorrow morning. Nickel-size hail and 60-70 mph winds are possible.

Severe weather chances will continue tomorrow, mainly for Oklahoma, Arkansas and southern Missouri.
