Free Fishing This Weekend at Kansas State Parks

The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Free Fishing Weekend is coming up this Saturday and Sunday.

K-D-W-P Secretary Christopher Kennedy says fishing is a great way to get kids outdoors

In Montgomery County, those bodies of water include LeCLere Lake in Coffeyville, the State Fishing Lake south of Independence, Elk City Reservoir, Lake Tanko in Cherryvale, and Big Hill Reservoir. Anglers should be aware that all length and creel limits will still apply, as will camping fees for those who wish to spend the night. Kennedy says events like the free fishing weekend can create meaningful memories with family and friends.

Kennedy has also designated several park-specific free entry days for various Kansas State Parks, including for Elk City State Park this Saturday.
