Montgomery County Leads State in Number of Certified Development Sites

 

Good things are happening in Cherryvale and across Montgomery County.

 

That's according to Montgomery County Action Council Executive Director Melissa Johnson, who gave a presentation to the Cherryvale City Council at last night's meeting. Johnson says the new Bartlett Soybean Crushing Facility has created a bit of a snowball effect in the county.

 

Johnson says Montgomery County leads the state in the number of certified sites, which are more attractive to developers.

 

Johnson says the Council is working on many projects right now, including more certified sites around the county.

 

While Johnson says the economic development world tends to move slowly and requires client confidentiality, Project Jayhawk, which is a development group out of Oklahoma looking to build a technology-related project that would bring around 30 high-paying jobs to the county plus about 200 jobs during construction.
