The Federal Emergency Management Agency visits Nowata County to assess storm damage.

Nowata County Emergency Management Director Laurie Summers, who provided updates to the Nowata County Commission, says there could be another statewide emergency declared.

In other business, the commission hired a new secretary for the board, passed a resolution for a right of way acquisition for a low water crossing at Lightning Creek, and approved a cooperative service agreement for the 2025-2026 fiscal year with USDA APHIS Wildlife Services.
