Progress is being made on bridge repair in Montgomery County.
That's the latest news at this week's comission meeting. Public Works Director Brandon Beurskens gave the commissioners an update, with the next intended project being the east bridge crossing Pumpkin Creek on County Road 1800 east of Coffeyville. He says the department is waiting to hear back on a recent grant request.
Additionally, the work on the west bridge crossing Pumpkin Creek continues. Beurskens says that project remains on track to finish later this summer.
Other items of business at this week's commission meeting was the extension of County Appraiser Melody Kikkert's contract for four years until June 30th of 2029, as well as posting a position for a Director of County Health, which will require a Master's of Science degree for any potential applicant.
