A Saturday evening accident involving a semi and SUV injures three people; one seriously.

 The accident took place around 6:50 p.m. at North Rangeline Road and Newman Road in Joplin. Initial reports indicate that the tractor-trailer was northbound on North Rangeline and struck the southbound SUV as it turned left onto Newman Road.

 Three people were taken to area hospitals, including one with serious injuries. No updates have been given on the injured's conditions.

 Joplin Fire, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded. Duquesne Police responded to assist with traffic control. Portions of the intersection were closed until around 8:25 p.m.
