Summer Meals Start Today

 

School is out and summer meals start today in southeast Kansas.

 

From now through July 25th in Coffeyville, free meals are available for all kids and teens 18 and under. Dine-in meals are available at Community Elementary School at 102 S Cline in the multi-purpose room with breakfast available from 7:30 to 8:30 and lunch from 11:30 to 12:30.

 

Curbside meals are available at Nado Cafe at 606 Cherokee from 11:30 to 12:30, which includes lunch plus the next day's breakfast. Weekend meal bags are also available every Friday.

 

A location in Dearing has also been added this year behind the post office at 312 Independence Ave. This location offers curbside pickup only between 11:30 and noon.

 

Infant and toddler summer meals are also available for birth through 11 years old and include infant formula and developmentally appropriate solid foods. These services are offered at the Nado Cafe and at the Dearing location.

 

The USD 446 summer meal program also starts today, with food available from 11:45 to 12:30 at ICC West at 2615 W Main, the Wesley Center at 111 E Maple, Eisenhower School at 501 Spruce St and Independence Community College at 1057 W College Ave. Food for the week can also be collected at the Elk City post office on Mondays from 1 to 1:30 p.m.  These meals will be offered through June 30th.  July 14-25th, meals will be available at Jefferson School from noon - 12:45.
