Parsons Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

A Parsons man is arrested on multiple felony charges after making threats and breaking into a home.

Parsons Police officers responded to a report of trespassing at a residence in the 1800 block of Levy Avenue. Dispatch advised officers that the suspect had reportedly made suicidal statements and was self-harming. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the female reporting party and victim. She was visibly distressed and crying and informed officers that the suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Zachary Rowland Jr, had fled the scene on foot toward a wooded area and nearby railroad tracks.

The victim reported that Rowland had entered her residence without permission, made threats to harm himself and stabbed himself multiple times. She told officers that she feared for the safety of both her and her child, who also witnessed the incident. Parsons Police conducted a search of the area and located Rowland and transported him to the PPD Jail. He had no apparent self-inflicted stab wounds. Rowland is facing charges of aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, criminal threat, aggravated endangering a child, domestic battery and aggravated intimidation of a witness.
