The Rails to Trails expansion project continues in Coffeyville.

Crews are working on the final expansion phase that will extend the trail that starts near Braum's and enable it to go all the way to LeClere Park around the back side of Buckeye Estates Mobile Home Park. According to City Manager Ben Brubaker, the project has faced a few setbacks with the weather, but he says new culverts have been made to deal with some water issues.

The expansion project is being funded by a grant from the Kansas Department of Transpiration. The finished trail is expected to open to walkers and cyclists by August.
