The Midland Theater Foundation is announcing a $200,000 donation from Solutions North Bank toward the restoration of the historic auditorium.

 

Foundation Board President Lisa Scheck says the contribution was made possible through a specific type of tax credits.

 

Scheck says this $200,000 contribution will help launch the first major phase of the auditorium, which will be focused on accessibility improvements, mechanical and electrical upgrades.

 

Scheck says the goal is to update the auditorium while preserving its original character. While the Solutions North Bank name may be new to Coffeyville after acquiring Community State Bank, the financial institution provided support to the Midland during early phases of fundraising efforts by donating towards outdoor movie nights.

 

The continuing goal is to have the auditorium open by 2028. The front of house remains open for community event rentals.
