A former Neodesha High School student is named the winner of a prestigious art award at Labette Community College.
L-C-C has selected a 3-D Wire Sculpture titled “The Sword in the Stone” by Garrett Davis as the winner of the John and Bonnie Latzer Student Art Award. Davis is a sophomore in General Studies at L-C-C and a graduate of Neodesha High School. He created his piece of artwork in the school's 3D Design course which helps students learn how to craft pieces in paper, clay, foam, wood, wire, and digital 3D Modeling.
The Latzer Art Award was established by the Parsons Area Comm unity Foundation and recognizes exemplary achievement by students in Fine Arts and Graphic Design at L-C-C. As a recipient of the award, Davis will be awarded a $500 scholarship and have his work added to the permanent art collection at L-C-C
