The Neodesha City Commission approves four projects for sealing city streets.
At this week's meeting, commissioners approved $12,000 for pavement sealing for four projects in the city. The measure had been tabled at the May 14th meeting in hopes that a third city commissioner would be seated at the time of the vote. However, the appointment did not occur in time, so the decision fell to Commissioner Duane Banzet and Mayor Devin Johnson. Banzet voted in favor of this measure, but says he would rather see a more permanent solution for road repair.
Mayor Devin Johnson says the city has had to make some tough choices on the issue.
The city held a special call meeting this week to appoint a new commissioner to fill the term left vacant by the resignation of Chris Jabben in April. Ed Truelove was selected to fill the remainder of that term, which will expire in January 2028.
