The Montgomery County Jail will have a new medical service provider for inmate beginning on July 1st.
The decision was made at last night's County Commission meeting. County Administrator Jonathan Booe says the county issued a request for bids and received only one from a company out of Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Jail Administrator Chad Dunham told commissioners they were able to negotiate a contract that was to their liking. Dunham says a big part of that is a clause that would not hold Montgomery County legally liable for decisions made by medical staff.
Commissioners approved a resolution approving the new agreement.
