Today's wet weather didn't stop Coffeyville's commemoration of Memorial Day.
The performance by the Coffeyville Municipal Band and Memorial Day service was held across the street from Fairview Cemetary at Grace Fellowship Church and featured local music, readings, a speech by Kansas Senator Virgil Peck and the laying of a wreath by Coffeyville Mayor Deborah Maples. Fifty flags were also put up in the cemetery by the Veteran's Memorial Park Association and individual volunteers. Coffeyville VFW Post 1022, American Legion Post 20 members assisted in the program organized by Dr. David Wiggins and hosted by Coffeyville Community College's Dirk Andrews.
The entire program was broadcast on KGGF thanks to Farm Bureau Agent Anna Lawless and VFW Post 1186. Listen to the full Memorial Day program HERE.
