Six students from northwest Arkansas are among the cadets graduating from one of the nationa’s top military academies this weekend.

The West Point Military Academy Class of 2025 includes Kale Sheets and Leyton Elmore of Fort Smith, Aiden Looney of Bentonville, Luke Rucker of Springdale, Gary Phillips of Van Buren, and Tyson Barbour of Fayetteville.

The six were among the more than 1,000 cadets who graduated from the Academy on Saturday to become military officers. Arkansas Congressman Steve Womack was at the graduation in his role as Chairman of the West Point Board of Visitors. Womack congratulated the cadets from Arkansas’ Third Congressional District, stating that they would make their families and fellow Americans proud of their accomplishment.
