A road rage incident near Neosho late last week leaves one man injured and another in the custody of police.
The incident occurred early Thursday evening on US-59. According to reports, one vehicle was prevented from passing another prompting the first vehicle to intentionally strike the other car, forcing it off the roadway. The suspect driver then produced a handgun and fired at the victim driver, striking him in the arm. The 59-year-old victim was able to drive himself to a Neosho hospital. He was later transferred to Joplin for a higher level of care.
Witnesses to the incident were able to give police a description of the suspect and his vehicle. McDonald County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate and arrest Anthony Keller of Goodman, Missouri. Keller was transferred to the custody of Newton County where he faces charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. He is being held without bond in the case.
