Memorial Day Ceremonies Canceled Due to Weather, Others Moved Indoors

 

Several area Memorial Day ceremonies have been canceled due to the rainy weather

 

The City of Howard announces that the American Legion Carter-Rader Post #149 has canceled the early morning activities scheduled for today in Howard, including breakfast and the hanging of cotton flags. The caravan has also been canceled due to the lack of cemetery services.

 

The 10:30am service will be held at the Flint Hills Assembly of God Church located at 12-17 K-99 in Howard. Lunch will be served afterward at the Cox Building and all are invited to attend both gatherings.

 

All cemetery services scheduled for today in Moline have been canceled.

 

The City of Caney has also canceled today's scheduled service due to rain and standing water at Veterans' Park

 

Memorial Day services in Independence have been moved from Mount Hope Cemetery to the East 4-H building at Riverside Park. Those services get underway at 10am.

 

The Coffeyville Memorial Day ceremonies will begin at 9:30am at Fairview Cemetery. In case of rain, the event will move across the street to Grace Fellowship Church.
