Severe Storms Possible Tonight, Significant Holiday Rainfall Likely

Severe storms remain possible tonight, although the threat area has now shifted south to include less of southeast Kansas and more of northeast Oklahoma.

Sedan and Coffeyville are now on the northern edge of the "slight" risk category for severe weather, while areas south of Bartlesville including Claremore and Pawhuska are now into the "moderate" risk category.

Timing is expected between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. on Sunday.

The main threats with storms that develop overnight is hail and flooding.  Flooding concerns continue for the weekend as a flood watch will be in effect for the four-state area through Memorial Day.  Six to eight inches of additional rain is possible for portions of northeast Oklahom and northwest Arkansas.  Southeast Kansas could see and additional 2 - 3 inches.

A slight chance of severe weather will also be in place tomorrow, mainly for northeast Oklahoma.
