A Parsons Traffic stop leads to the seizure of illegal drugs.
Parsons Police conducted a traffic stop on Tuesday evening in the 1500 block of Broadway after observing a vehicle with an illegal window tint. During the stop, officers observe a glass pipe commonly associated with methamphetamine use in plain sight within the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded additional items, including multiple glass pipes with crystalline residue, a medicine bottle containing a white substance, drug paraphernalia consistent with distribution, and a machete located in the truck bed.
The driver of the truck was identified as 44-year-old Travis Wilson and was placed under arrest. At the time of his arrest, Wilson was on probation in Labette County. Due to his probation status, a search was conducted of his residence. The search revealed additional paraphernalia, including a digital scale with residue and dozens of clean plastic baggies believed to be used in distribution. These items have been sent to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Lab for testing.
Wilson faces multiple charges, including Possession of Narcotics and Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. The charges have been sent to the Labette County Attorney's Office for formal charging.
