Governor Laura Kelly orders flags to be flown at half staff tomorrow, May 22, 2025, in honor of a Butler County paramedic.

Flags on all state buildings and facilities will be at half staff from sunrise to sunset tomorrow in honor of Justin Lauppe. Lauppe was an EMS paramedic in Butler County who suffered a fatal cardiac arrest while on an emergency response call on May 16.

Kelly called Lauppe a dedicated emergency responder who served his community and provided essential care to his fellow Kansans in their time of need.
