Millions of Americans will be hitting the road this weekend to celebrate Memorial Day.
Triple A estimates that over 45 million Americans have plans to travel more than 50 miles form home this weekend. That's 1.4 million more than last year. Shawn Steward with Triple-A Kansas says, with so many people expected on the roads, travel need to remember to be patient and buckle up.
Steward says pre-planning your trip can help reduce the stress of traveling.
Triple-A has some good news for Memorial Day travelers. U.S. gas prices are on average about 50 cents lower than last year. The Consumer Price Index also suggests that car rentals and hotel rooms may also cost less than in 2024.
