The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has issued boil water advisories for the City of West Mineral in Cherokee County and for Allen County Rural Water District #15.

The West Mineral advisory was issued due to possible contamination that may have occurred during repairs to water lines by Public Wholesale Water Supply District #11, which serves the City of West Mineral. The Allen County advisory was issued due to possible contamination that occurred during the replacement of a hydrant.

Customers of the City of West Mineral water supply and Allen County Rural Water #15 should boil water for at least one full minute prior to consumption, dispose of ice from trays and automatic ice makers, and disinfect dishes and food preparation surfaces until further notice.
