Authorities in Bartlesville are investigating the weekend drowning of a child.

Bartlesville Police and Bartlesville Fire were called to the scene in the 4700 block of Lewis Drive early Saturday afternoon after emergency calls reported a possible drowning. A 16-month-old child was found on the scene and taken to Jane Phillips Medical Center where he later died.

Law enforcement continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child's drowning.
