Two Guests at a Manhattan Hotel Hospitalized After Carbon Monoxide Leak

A Manhattan hotel is evacuated and two guests are hospitalized following a carbon monoxide leak.

The Manhattan Fire Department was called to the Double Tree by Hilton location on Richards Drive around 11am on Saturday morning following reports of an unknown hazmat situation. Upon arrival, crews found elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the hotel. The hotel was then evacuated and two guests were taken to a nearby hospital while several others received medical treatment on scene.

The cause of the incident was discovered to be a pool heater and inoperable exhaust fans for the heating system.

Guests were allowed back into the building around 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
