***** Original Story *****
Severe storms are possible once again today as we near the end of a multi-day stretch of unsettled weather.
Today's severe threat will be highest over more of the area compared to previous days. Storms are expected to develop as early as midday in the four-state area in an environment that will be very unstable and strong by afternoon. Storm development for southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma will be most likely between 3 and 9 p.m. Southern Montgomery County including Coffeyville and most of northeast Oklahoma, extreme southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas are now included in the "moderate" risk category, which is a level 4 out of 5.
Storms will be capable of producing high-impact severe weather, including very large hail and strong tornadoes. Another round of storms and some severe potential will accompany the cold front as it sweeps through this evening.
KGGF will provide severe weather coverage today as needed.
