President Trump Selects Kansas Native for Fed Vice Chair

A Kansas native is nominated by President Trump to serve as the Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve for Supervision.

Michelle “Miki” Bowman is a native of Council Grove and a graduate of the University of Kansas and Washburn Law School.  Bowman was the Vice President of Farmers and Drovers Bank in Council Grove and served as the Kansas Bank Commissioner where she was responsible for overseeing hundreds of state-chartered banks, trust companies and money transmitters. Kansas Senator Jerry Moran spoke on Bowman's behalf during a recent Senate hearing on her nomination. Moran says the position for which Bowman has been nominated is an important one.

Moran urged his colleagues to approve Bowman's nomination and says she is the right person for the job.

Bowman's nomination was approved by the Senate Banking Committee on a party-line 13 to 11 vote. She now awaits confirmation by the full Senate.
