The Osage County Sheriff's is working to locate the owners of unclaimed guns kept by the Office.

When Sheriff Bart Perrier took office in January, the Department listed a total of 27 guns that were unaccounted for. One of those belonged to Osage County Commissioner and former employee at the Sheriff's Office Charlie Cartwright. Cartwright says the issue was one of improper paperwork.

The Sheriff's Office has tracked down the owner of 19 of the guns with only 8 remaining unclaimed.
