There's good news today for fans of South Coffeyville sports.
At last night's South Coffeyville school board meeting, members approved spending up to $45,000 on new scoreboards for all fields and the gym. The board decided to go ahead with the approval with hopes the scoreboards arrive before school starts in the fall.
The requirement to have a 35-second shot clock in Oklahoma will go into effect during the 2026-2027 school year, although it will be optional for South Coffeyville's athletic classification.
In other business, the board rehired non-certified personnel and coaches for the upcoming school year, approved next year's school calendar, hired Alexis Close as a full-time substitute teacher and gave approval to Superintendent Daryl Pruter to hire summer help for hourly employment.
