The body of a Wichita man who disappeared while kayaking on a river in northwest Arkansas has been recovered.

Authorities say that 57-year-old Hector Rios was found on Thursday evening around 4pm. His body was located in the waters of the Mulberry River north of Mill Creek in Franklin County. Search and rescue teams had been looking for the man since he went missing on Saturday, May 3. Officials from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission say Rios was not wearing a life jacket when he was found and that the life jacket was found in his kayak.

Rios was an optometrist in Wichita.
