The City of Columbus announces the hiring of its first-ever Code Enforcement Specialist.

 

Gary Holt has been hired to address issues related to nuisance properties, sanitation, overgrown vegetation, inoperable and unlicensed vehicles and other code violations. Holt will conduct field investigations, respond to citizen complaints, and work directly with residents to ensure compliance with local ordinances.

 

Holt comes to his new position with more than ten years of experience in a similar role with the Columbus Police Department. Code enforcement in Columbus was historically conducted by the police department, but the City Council recently decided to take a more focused approach to the issue and created the new position.
