After several work sessions by the Caney City Council, ordinances concerning rental houses and tiny homes were passed in the latest council meeting.
Mayor Josh Elliott says the city is looking to help current and future residents.
Elliott says a full time code enforcement officer will have a checklist for rental properties to make sure dwellings are suitable to live in.
Also passed was an ordinance on tiny homes and what the definition of a tiny home is in Caney.
An executive session was also held during this week's meeting, but no action was taken.
