A Monday evening boating accident in Muskogee County leaves two people dead.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol responded to the scene at the Silver Canyon RV Ranch just south of Muskogee after receiving reports of a capsized canoe. The canoe was carrying four people at the time of the accident and two of the occupants were able to swim safely to shore. The other two occupants – a 14 year-old girl and a 42-year-old man – were unable to make it out of the water and were lost. The two victims were recovered from the water on Tuesday morning by the O-H-P Dive Team.
Their names have not yet been released.
