Parsons Police bring back an old program.

 

At this week's Parsons City Commission meeting, Police Chief Robert Spinks told commissioners that one of his officers is working to revive the police chaplain program. Spinks says several religious leaders from Parsons are taking part in the program.

 

Spinks also told the commission that the department had received two recent donations for the Shop with a Cop program for the holidays, including $5,000 from Walmart and $1,000 from the Saint Vincent de Paul Society. This week's meeting was also the first for new City Manager Jeff Cantrell. Cantrell says he's happy to be in Parsons.

 

Cantrell was recently hired as the new Parsons City Manager following the retirement of Debbie Lamb.
