An early morning accident yesterday in Neosho County leaves one person dead and another seriously injured.

The two vehicles involved collided head-on around 6am while traveling on K-39 near the intersection with Udall Road, or about 7 miles east of Chanute. 47-year-old Teresa Phillips of Chanute sustained fatal injuries in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. 38-year-old Thaddaeus Jetmore of Deerfield, Missouri, was seriously injured and was taken to KU Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment.
