The Kansas Department of Corrections reports an inmate who did not return to a Wichita Work Release Facility on Saturday night is back in custody.
Authorities say 42-year-old Royce Timmons was reported missing from the minimum-security facility around 6:15 on Saturday night. Timmons was convicted in Sedgwick County for possession of a firearm while on parole for a 2011 aggravated robbery conviction. He was serving a sentence of 29 months for the firearm conviction.
Timmons was located and captured on Sunday morning after surrendering himself to the work release facility. He was arrested without incident.
