Governor Laura Kelly orders flags to be flown at half-staff on Sunday in honor of National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day.
Flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Sunday to remember the 70 firefighters in the U.S. who lost their lives in 2024. This year will mark the 44th year to honor fallen firefighters.
Kelly called the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day a time to honor Kansas firefighters for their tireless work and to mark the day to ensure the ultimate sacrifice made by many will not be forgotten..
