The City of Altamont is proceeding cautiously on the installation of a new sewer lift station.
At the city council's most recent meeting, City Administrator LeeAnn Myers told council members that the contractor for the project – Tristar Utilities - informed her that the price is likely to increase in the next 30 days.
Council members expressed concern about the cost of the project but also felt they needed more information before making a decision. Mayor Richard Hayward says the city really needs the new lift station.
The council decided to table final approval of the project until the May 8th meeting to allow for the gathering of more information on the cost.
