A new scam circulating in the area has temporarily shut down the Crawford County Sheriff's Office Jail roster website.

 

According to the Sheriff's Office, a person who was recently booked into the jail and then released received a phone call after they had gotten out. The caller told the person that they had been released in error and would need to send money to correct the mistake.

 

This is not the only report of such an incident involving people arrested in Crawford County. The Sheriff's Office has shut down the website until the issue is resolved and reminds the public that their office does not call to solicit money.
