A water line break prompts the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to issue a boil water advisory for the City of La Harpe in Allen County.

Customers of the La Harpe city water supply should boil water for at least one minute prior to consumption and dispose of ice cubes from trays and automatic ice makers. Disinfect dishes and food preparation surfaces by immersion in clean water that contains one teaspoon of bleach per gallon of water. Water is safe for bathing, though young children should be supervised to prevent ingestion.

The boil water advisory will remain in effect until testing can confirm that the water supply is free of bacterial contamination.
