Coffeyville Community College announces the founder and CEO of a Topeka-based rescue mission as its 2025 Commencement Speaker.
Barry Feaker is the founder and CEO of Compassion Strategies, an organization dedicated to assisting vulnerable populations and combating chronic homelessness. Recognized as CCC’s 2024 Distinguished Alumni, Feaker has spent his life seeking solutions to homelessness, including serving for 36 years as the Executive Director of the Topeka Rescue Mission Ministries. Under his leadership, nearly 60,000 individuals received shelter, and millions of meals were served to those in need.
Feaker has been honored nationally, receiving accolades including United States Presidential letters, the Citygate Network’s Citygate Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition. In addition to his leadership work, he is the author of In Darkness, a Light Still Shines.
Feaker will address the CCC Class of 2025 as the school celebrates its 100th graduating class on May 10, at 10am in Nellis Hall on the CCC campus. The public is invited to attend.
