A Miami man is set to face arraignment for DUI in a UTV accident that caused the death of a 9-year-old Commerce boy.
67-year-old Douglas Gray was driving a UTV side-by-side on April 22 when the accident occurred that killed 9-year-old Easton Freeman. Police reports indicate that Freeman was running alongside the UTV when he slipped in the mud, fell, and was then struck by the vehicle. The boy was taken to a Tulsa hospital ,where he later died from his injuries.
According to court documents, Gray admitted to a police officer at the scene that he had been drinking prior to the accident and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.
Gray made his first court appearance on Friday and will be arraigned on May 30.
