A third person is arrested in connection to the discovery of a burned-out vehicle containing human remains in Barry County, Missouri.
Authorities have formally charged 38-year-old Nathan Bates of Purdy, Missouri, with abandonment of a corpse in the case. The incident occurred sometime between March 11 and March 13 near Verona, Missouri. Authorities were called to the scene of a towing company in Shell Knob on March. The company had recovered a vehicle from the scene of a fire the prior week and then discovered a body in the trunk. Blood testing later revealed the victim’s identity as that of Marvin Lance McCullough.
Court records reveal that the suspects left McCullough’s body inside a camper for three days before attempting to dispose of it.
34-year-old Brandy Coburn of Verona, MO, and 46-year-old Jimmy Taylor of Exeter also face multiple charges in the case, including first-degree murder, armed criminal action, abandonment of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.
