As any baseball fan can attest, sometimes spring baseball games get rained out.
That’s what happened to Saturday’s 95th Annual Baseball History celebration in Independence. Several of the events avoided the rain and were held without problem, but the afternoon events were not held due to the downpour.
Those who were hoping to hear the presentation of local baseball history by Ken Brown will get a second chance, however. Brown will now give his presentation tomorrow at noon at the Independence Historical Museum and Art Center., located at 123 North 8th Street. The talk is free to attend.
The celebration was to commemorate the first night game in organized baseball to be played under the lights at Shulthis Stadium on April 28, 1930.
