One man is dead and two others are injured after a car strikes a deer in Mayes County.

The accident occurred just after 6am on Monday, when a 17-year old male driver struck a deer on South 430 Road. Soon after that accident, another car approached the scene and struck the first car pinning 36-year-old Cody Pryor, who was attempting to help the 17-year-old. Pryor was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old was life-flighted to a Tulsa hospital and a 36-year-old woman was transported via ambulance with minor injuries.

The 81-year-old driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
