The City of Parsons announces it has received major grant funding from the State of Kansas for improvements at the Tri-City Airport.
The City will receive more than $540,000 through the Kansas Airport Improvement Program or KAIP for replacing the fuel system at the Tri-City Airport. The grant is one of 47 such grants awarded across the state as a part of $14 million in projects.
KAIP receives $15 million annually through the Eisenhower Legacy Transportation Program and requires matching funds from the community for the project. Parsons will provide between 10 and 50% in matching funds.
