One man is seriously injured and faces possible charges following a single-vehicle accident in Okmulgee County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that the driver says he looked down briefly at his phone just before his car left the roadway, struck a guardrail, and then plunged off the side of a bridge, falling 30 feet into a creek below. The Okmulgee Fire Department responded to the scene and rescued the man from the vehicle. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital for treatment. O-H-P says the man has admitted to the use of methamphetamine prior to the accident.
When O-H-P completes the investigation of the crash, the case will be forwarded to the Oknulgee County District Attorney's Office for possible charging.
