A chance to safely dispose of medications is coming up this weekend.
The Montgomery County Drug Take Back Day is coming up on Saturday at the Coffeyville Police Department. Police Chief Kwin Bromley says this is a good chance to keep medications out of the hands of children.
Bromley says there are few items that can't be accepted.
Live Healthy Montgomery County will be handing out free Deterra drug deactivation kits that allow you to safely dispose of medications at home as well. The drive-thru event will be this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the back side of the police department building on 11th on the east side.
If you can't make the event this weekend, several 24/7 drug drop-off locations are available year-round in police department lobbies in Coffeyville, Caney and Independence, plus the Cherryvale Pharmacy during business hours.
