UPDATE: The driver of the UTV has been identified as 67-year-old Douglas Gray of Miami.

 

A UTV crash in Ottawa County, OK, claims the life of a 9-year-old Miami boy.

 

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the boy died after being struck by a utility terrain vehicle just after 8pm last night. A 67-year0old man was driving the UTV along South 490 Road, about seven miles west of Commerce, when the accident occurred.

 

The boy was airlifted to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, but died from his injuries. There were three other people on the UTV at the time of the crash, but no other injuries were reported.

 

No names have yet been released and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
