A truck driver in southwest Missouri is injured after a wild turkey crashes through his windshield.
The incident occurred just before noon on Sunday on northbound I-49 in Newton County, just south of Joplin. Emergency crews from Redings Mill Fire, the Newton County Sheriff's Office, and Newton County Ambulance responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they found a tractor-trailer stopped on the roadside with a large hole in the windshield. The bird had struck the driver, causing non-life-threatening injuries.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper says this is the second such bird strike to occur this year.
