Two people are in custody following a police chase that crossed the state line from Kansas into Missouri.

 

On Monday night, the Vernon County Sheriff's Office in Missouri was notified by Bourbon County, Kansas, deputies of a high-speed pursuit that had crossed the state line into Missouri. Vernon County deputies took over the chase as the suspect's vehicle entered their jurisdiction and followed the subject until the pursuit ended when the car entered flood waters. At that point, three people exited the car and fled on foot.

 

Authorities were able to locate and arrest two of the suspects while the third managed to escape custody. Deputies recovered multiple narcotics and drug paraphernalia from the vehicle. Charges are pending.

 

The suspects' names have not been released.
